Please give this an opportunity to bring our communications forward and make an effort to do what is the right and best thing for the business. The time has come to start communicating and stop passing the buck or pretending it will go away. The salon is poised for some real problems and ignoring it will only make it worse. The problem is communication, it's not personal, it's business!
I can make a complete list of things in need of attention and I will if you like. However, the top 5 problems that need immediate attention are...
1.) Aug. 20th party is snowballing out of control and needs voice of authority to step up.
2.) Snack bar either as a hybrid or as vending only needs to be addressed.
3.) The reception area is out of control. A job deception, dress requirement and standards must be adopted and maintained. This is not a personal playground, but a multi-million dollar business. A receptionist should never be a sacred cow, being disrespectful, or unable to complete 1 full day of scheduled work is unacceptable. The constant disrespect and taunting is horrible and to ignore or deny it makes it worse. Trust me when I tell you that boasting about being spoiled and having it your way is disgusting, distasteful and left unchecked, the truth.
4.) The website is coming but I need the fact sheets the filled out and turned in. Also the positioning of search engines, mail outs and need upgrading.
5.) The accounting, statements, late notices and eviction notices need to be reinvented. They are a source of concern. Also, the down home effect falls short here and I would appreciate a heads-up before those notices go out. Amy has her hands full when she comes here with the children. Naturally I try to help but not always with the greatest effect. When she comes without them, she is usually in a hurry since she needs to get them. This is not really a problem, hell we were all kids once and lord knows its better for them to be with her than in some daycare. But combined with the notifications, off again on again importance placed on when late is late or the day the statements go out it becomes a potential issue. That is why I have found reinventing the notices is important.
Finally, these issues may not be popular, but they are also not personal. They are what any consultant or would tell you. , I have never meddled in your family business and am making every effort to insure that this is about business. It is not me that brings this baggage to the work place, so anything remotely considered being personal would belong to you. What is personal is that I am unable to do my job out of fear of retaliation or humiliation where your family is concerned. The fact that my voice is mute concerning this business makes it personal.
